Biography
In light of today’s explosive IT infrastructure growth and complexity, organizations are increasingly adopting virtualization as a means of consolidating IT resources, simplifying management, and minimizing overhead. One of the most complex issues facing VMware users trying to fully capitalize on virtualization is managing, allocating, and protecting virtual data as they would actual data. Chris will discuss a three pronged approach to tackle issues around virtual data in VMWare. He will provide insight on how to create a single, integrated, comprehensive and centralized interface for administering VMware data through a virtual storage infrastructure that complements VMware virtualization technology.
Speaker Bio: Christopher Poelker is an author (Storage Area Networks for Dummies) and speaker, and is currently VP of Enterprise Solutions at FalconStor Software. Prior to joining FalconStor, Chris was the NY district storage manager and a lead storage architect at HDS. Before HDS, Chris was a lead storage architect at Compaq for the StorageWorks team. Chris also spent time as a technical engineer at Sun Microsystems, and over 20 years as an engineer and VMS consultant for Digital Equipment Corporation. His certifications include: MCSE, MCT, MASE, A+ certified.
