Thoughts on storage virtualization, it’s definition, and some resources
Monday, December 29th, 2008Our CTO Wai Lam, (who is one of the brightest guys I have ever met) was recently featured in an executive viewpoint in Virtual Strategy magazine, and I thought his views were quite interesting, and could provide some insight to the readers of this blog.
Please review it and let me know your thoughts.
On another note, have you ever tried googling the term “storage virtualization”? A BUNCH of definitions show up, and each one has a different take. Some are pretty in depth, and others are just lead-ins to sell you something. Here are a few of the better ones:

Tom Clark also has a good book on the subject, which is very readable.

And of course you can always get the latest edition of my book, which should be out this January, and has a chapter on the subject that keeps things simple and in perspective.
